After many years in Vienna and a long career in tourism and gastronomy, Lefteris Dermitzakis fulfilled a lifelong dream.
On a hillside overlooking my mother’s village, I created a special place — surrounded by nature, history, and a unique energy that seems to flow from ancient times. The villa was designed with large windows and an open architectural style, allowing light and energy to move freely. Every room tells its own story — of tranquility, inspiration, and the joy of life.

Ellas Residence sits above Kissamos Bay, in western Crete, offering a prime vantage from which to explore the region’s natural and cultural appeal. You’re only a short drive from the dramatic white sands of Falassarna, the exotic lagoon of Elafonissi, and the renowned Balos beach (accessible by boat from Kissamos). The town of Kissamos (also known as Kastelli) offers charming tavernas, cafés, local markets and a working port, while the vibrant city of Chania is about 36 km away.
From here you can venture into lush gorges, taste fresh Cretan cuisine in nearby villages, or take sunset boat rides along the coast. Still, after your day of exploration, the villa’s hilltop seclusion ensures peace and a chance to unwind beneath unpolluted stars.
